Bangkok, December 7, 2021 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is pleased to announce that the âChiang Mai Design Week 2021â will take place from December 4 to 12, 2021 at the Three Kings Monument, Lam Chang, Wat Ket, in Chang Moi and in various areas around the northern city.
The event, organized by the Creative Economy Promotion Agency (CEA) in collaboration with the public and private sectors in Chiang Mai, aims to stimulate and support the creative industry and the local economy in northern Thailand by showcasing value the skills and talent of communities, designers, artisans, artists and entrepreneurs.
The event also aims to encourage the exchange of knowledge, experiences and resources to lead to further development and adaptation of creative enterprises – both products and services – to meet changing needs and generate income and new jobs.
Over 185 activities take place as part of ‘Chiang Mai Design Week 2021′. To name just a few as examples of the engaging and creative moments to experience during the event, these include Design daily crafts, an exhibition by Ratthee Phaisanchotsiri at Thailand Creative and Design Center (TCDC) Chiang Mai; Chiang Mai Street Jazz Festival 2021, under the theme of “Music in the Metaverse”; Thai Coffee Festival 2021 by Friends Trade, aimed at coffee lovers and promoting the sustainability of all sectors of the coffee industry chain at the Chiang Mai Arts and Culture Center; Chang Moi Creative District Tour, a visit to the Tamarind Village Hotel to explore the way of life of the people of the Chang Moi community; POP Market, a creative design product market featuring more than 60 brands that reflect the local identity of the North, and Sound Connection 2021 by Everlong One, showcasing music as a tool to connect artist and community and more.
