These people are anxious to be able to jump on a plane, car or train so that they can feel this sand between their toes. And maybe the islanders want to visit other beaches too, let’s say to compare!
And a lot of those beach visits generate beautiful images, many of which end up being posted on social media. Well, after analyzing over 26 million Instagram hashtags, the website Argent.co.uk included a list of the best beaches in the world, based on the number of Instagram photos posted and a formula to account for the size of the beach.
Bal Harbor Beach, South Florida, best known for its breathtaking sunrises, was the only beach in the Americas ranked, ranking 18th, with 239 photos per meter posted
The most photographed and displayed beach in the world? Kelingking Beach on the Bali Peninsula, Nusa had over 338,000 hashtags and over 4,200 per meter. Kelingking Beach is best known for its Tyrannosaurus Rex shaped cliff formation. It has become a hot spot for tourists as it is the perfect opportunity to take photos.
The most popular beach in the United States, and 6 in the world, is Hanauma Beach in Hawaii, with 345 photos posted per meter.
