Satree School Charity Run to help local schools


RUN: A charity run organized by Satree Phuket School was confirmed in October to raise funds for local schools in Phuket.

The “Run with Hearts Together for 113 Years Phuket Women SPK RUN 2022” will take place on Sunday, October 9 with Satree Phuket School students, parents, teachers, alumni and the general public all invited to participate.

There will be a fun 3.5km and 6.5km race as well as a 10.2km mini marathon, organizers confirmed at a press conference on Tuesday (August 9th).

Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew oversaw the press conference and was joined by Panya Hatthi, Vice President of the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization (PPAO) and Somchai Kongkunakorn, Principal of Satree Women’s School and President of the Phuket Alumni Association.

Proceeds from the races will be used to support educational institutions at Satree School and three other schools under the Phuket Primary Education Services area office which, at press time, were not named. The registration fees for the two Funs Runs are 350 B and 450 B for the Mini Marathon. There is also a VIP category costing 2,000 B which grants access to all three races.

Additionally, the race strives to promote a healthy lifestyle among all participants and residents of Phuket on a larger scale.

Those participating in the races can choose to walk and enjoy the scenery along the way, such as the Sino-Portuguese architecture of the Standard Chartered Bank building and Clock Tower in Phuket Town as well as the park audience of Saphan Hin. The exact locations of the races were not specified at the press conference but will be disclosed in due course, organizers said.
