Police arrest trans woman for child sex trafficking

A transgender woman accused of human trafficking and child exploitation was arrested in Phuket yesterday during a police operation. The 37-year-old trans woman allegedly organized the prostitution of children under the age of 18 online via Twitter.

Local police sought her out after learning of her exploitation on her Twitter account where her name was Pepsi. On this Twitter page, she was looking for potential customers looking for underage women to pay for sex. She referred clients to the LINE mobile app where she could privately hash details of illicit encounters.

The police went undercover in order to make contact with the woman online. They requested his services to arrange a meeting with underage girls at a local hotel in the Mueang district of Phuket. On Wednesday, the police carried out their sting operation and caught the woman red-handed as she sent young girls to the fake meeting.

The police intervened and arrested the women on the spot. The trans woman reportedly confessed to the crimes at the time, admitting to human trafficking, as well as recruiting and organizing child exploitation against children between the ages of 15 and 18.

Now the woman will be sent to Bangkok where she will be thoroughly questioned as police carefully investigate the crimes. She will then face legal action for trafficking via her Twitter and LINE accounts.
