Phuket drug trafficking case makes over 1kg of ice cream



PHUKET: Police in Phuket arrested four people in a series of raids that seized a total of more than 1 kg of crystal meth (ya ice) and 35,312 methamphetamine pills (ya bah).

The raids, led by Lieutenant Colonel Wachira Amarin from Phuket City Police Station, took place between September 18 and 20. In total, the police announced three cases with the following details.

Thongchai Tamsiribun, 36, from Songkhla, and Worawan Koisaengchai, 20, from Phuket, were arrested in a rented room in Baan Laem Hin, Moo 7, Ratsada sub-district. The couple were found in possession of 1 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 35,200 amphetamine tablets.

Police also seized two digital scales, two cell phones, a Honda Click motorcycle, drug paraphernalia and other evidence.

Mr. Thongchai and Ms. Worawan were taken to Phuket Town Police Station and charged with possession of Category 1 drugs with the intention of selling them.

Sareepa Kajoy, 43, from Phuket, was arrested in a rented room in Baan Laem Hin, Moo 7, Ratsada sub-district. She was found in possession of 3.18 g of crystal methamphetamine and 12 amphetamine tablets. Police also seized his cell phone and Honda Scoopy motorcycle.

Ms. Sareepa was charged with possession of a Category 1 drug with intent to sell it.

The fourth suspect (name withheld) was arrested at an unknown location in Thalang. The suspect was found in possession of 49.44 g of crystal methamphetamine and 100 amphetamine tablets. Police also seized two digital scales, drug paraphernalia and other evidence.

The suspect was charged with possession of Category 1 drugs with intent to sell them.
