Clodagh and Harry tied the knot in August 2021 and are moving away from their Highclere Castle cottage to explore the island nation of Thailand
Favorite Irish chef Clodagh McKenna is currently embarking on an incredible adventure in Thailand with her husband Harry Herbert.
The author and heir to Highclere Castle – best known as the fictional setting of Downton Abbey – has traveled to the Land of Smiles, trying the various culinary delights the nation is known for and soaking up the sunshine.
The couple stayed at the Six Senses Yao Noi resort near the Big Island of Phuket, famous for its full moon parties.
The duo didn’t party, but instead immersed themselves in the island’s natural beauty by taking trips on mopeds and befriending the locals.

“A few days ago we stopped on the road to chat with a lovely local guy who had one of the brightest smiles. We chatted and he told us he was setting up his first fish market today ‘today,’ the chef said.
So we came to his market and his restaurant tonight. His whole family there, running the fish stand, grilling the fish, serving the tables. We had the most delicious locally caught seafood, the sea bass filled with fresh lemongrass and coated in salt, and wrapped in a banana leaf. I’m so in love with the people of this country.”
She also shared her love for the national dish Pad Thai Goong, which is Pad Thai with shrimp. “I could eat this all day, every day. In fact, I could…I’m going to ask if they’re going to teach me how to do this,” she said.
