Radisson Phuket Mai Khao Beach
Thailand is on track to welcome 120 new hotels over the next few years, with a significant 29,861 rooms between them.
Bangkok is expected to see the most new properties, with Phuket and Pattaya also expected to see an influx of new hotels.
Develop the country’s hotel offer
According to construction database TOPHOTELPROJECTS, 120 hotels are set to open across Thailand.
Among these projects in various stages of planning and development, 64 hotels with 17,666 rooms between them will fall into the four-star category and 56 properties with 12,195 rooms in total will fall into the five-star category.
This year promises to be particularly busy with 38 hotel openings. Another 22 properties are set to debut in 2023, followed by 18 in 2024 and 42 in 2025 and beyond.
Bangkok will host 47 hotels, comprising 12,089 rooms, during this period. Phuket will benefit from 16 hotel openings, comprising a total of 3,383 rooms, and Pattaya will benefit from 15 hotels with 4,896 rooms between them.
Leading brands contributing to this growth include Citadines aparthotels, which will open five 945-room hotels across the country; InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, which has five hotels with a planned 932 rooms; and Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts, which is opening four 2,334-room hotels.
Entrance fees in Phuket
Among the exciting properties set to debut in Thailand are the Radisson Phuket Mai Khao Beach, which is set to open in early 2023, and the late 2022 opening of Tri Vananda in Phuket.
The Radisson Phuket Mai Khao Beach is located on the northwest coast of Phuket, just 15 minutes from Phuket International Airport and offers direct access to Mai Khao Beach. When completed, the resort will have 222 rooms and suites.
This accommodation will be complemented by amenities such as a large outdoor lagoon pool, well-equipped fitness center, spa, kids’ club, and dining options including an all-day dining destination, specialty restaurant and a lounge in the hall. Events will be held in two meeting rooms.
Tri Vananda will then welcome guests to a sprawling hillside setting about 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport, dotted with lakes and gardens. The 298-key property will include villas and a wellness resort focused on integrative and functional medicine and cognitive wellbeing.
Property facilities will include a health center with consultation rooms, physiotherapy and traditional Chinese medicine treatment rooms, a cognitive health center, health diagnostic facilities and a mindfulness center on the lake. .
The lakeside spa will house thermal rooms, relaxation areas, a steam room, private spa suites and a fitness center with a 50-metre swimming pool, juice bar and jetty on the lake for sports nautical.
Families will be catered for with a dedicated teen and tween club that promotes a wellness-focused lifestyle.
