BCPL signs MoU with IWAI to define raw materials supply chain


DIBRUGAR: Brahmaputra Crackers and Polymer Limited (BCPL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) for the establishment of a logistics chain for the movement of cargo for the petrochemical complex of BCPL at Dibrugarh, Assam.

BCPL plans to connect through seaports in eastern India to ASEAN countries using the Indo-Bangladesh Protocol (IBP) route.

The MoU was signed by Pranjal Changmai, GM Operations Manager for BCPL and Director A Selva Kumar of IWAI.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Ministers Sarbananda Sonowal and Rameshwar Teli attended the occasion.

Reep Hazarika, Managing Director of BCPL, Pruthiviraj Dash – Director (Finance) of BCPL were also present during the signing of the MoU.

The MOU will open up new investment avenues for BCPL in addition to long-term sustainability and create opportunities in the industrial field in and around the Dibrugarh district of Assam.
