I did not hesitate to sign the letter because it clearly reflects the values ​​of my company. At Hims & Hers, our main mission is to help people get the health care they need without complication, bias or judgment. We exist to help reach all those left behind or left behind by the current system, whether you are one of 19.5 million American women who do not have access to a full range of contraceptive methods, or anyone who has difficulty finding a safe and reliable place to get health care.
To put it simply, we value equality and access, and we believe that stigma and politics should never prevent individuals from getting the care they need. New anti-abortion laws walk directly on these values.

Abortion bans are a calculated violation of a woman’s fundamental right to choose what to do with her own body. They are also part of a targeted attack on those who continue to be systematically oppressed by our justice system. These laws will ultimately force disadvantaged people, usually people of color, to resort to unsafe abortion measures. While there will most likely always be safe places women turn to when they need an abortion, not everyone will be able to afford it. This privilege will not be equal.

It is a fight for the right of women to choose and a great fight for equal access. Our employees, clients, friends and families are under attack and deserve to have access to care.

It should no longer be acceptable for business leaders to play it safe and choose not to speak out because they are afraid of offending someone. We need to get out of our corporate narratives and over-designed slideshows. In times of injustice or inequality, it is essential that companies take moral positions against depravity of any kind, and especially of this kind. As Desmond Tutu said: “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.

I agree that it is not enough to sign a letter and make a public statement. We all need to do our part in building businesses and cultures where fairness and equality are not just core values, but core commitments.

This is precisely why 52% of our workforce is women. This is why almost half of our management team is made up of women. This is why we are committed to pay equity and why we are offering 20 weeks of paid leave to all new primary parents.

Equal salary. Equal access. Equal treatment. These should be the first principles that drive every decision we make, no matter what our business.
